NAPLES INK PROJECT

American journalist Rocky Casale and Naples-born photographer Giuseppe Divaio have been closely documenting tattoo culture in Naples, Italy since April 2015.    

Together, they photographed and catalogued interviews with hundreds of tattooed Neapolitans, from 20-something students, to mothers, fathers, grandmothers and local entrepreneurs.       

"To have a tattoo in Naples is to literally wear your identity on your sleeve: where you live, what you believe in, what you do for work even the gang you might belong to. Neapolitans wear them better.”
